Applauses and cheers came through the Simulation Training Center of Clinical Skills at Sun Yat-sen University on June 25, 2014. This was not a class gathering. Instead, it was the special training for over fifty general practitioners run by Professor Trevor Gibbs and Professor David Taylor, specialists of general family medicine from the UK. Tao Yanan, Deputy Director of Medical Continuing Education Center of SYSU, was the host of the training course. Huang Yingzi, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Futian District Community Health Care Center, took part as the interpreter. Wang Shaoxin, Director of Medical Continuing Education Center of SYSU, Wang Xinwang, Deputy Dean of School of General Practice and Continuing Education of Guangzhou Medical University, and Professor Ma Zhongfu from The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU monitored the event.  
Using brain storm method, five random groups of trainees intensely discussed common clinical cases offered by Prof. Gibbs. The case study involved character analysis, information collection, diagnosis and problem solution. Then, one representative from each group presented their conclusion. Prof. Gibbs and Prof. Taylor gave their comments based on the content of the presentation. 

Professor Trevor Gibbs is a WHO Consultant in Medical Education, Adolescent Health & Primary Care, Development Officer of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), Executive Officer for International Affairs RCGP Scotland and Educational Consultant to WONCA and the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME). His experience in General Practice and his interest in Medical Education have given him the opportunity to develop medical curricular programmers in many parts of the world.

Professor David Taylor is the Reader in Medical Education at the University of Liverpool School of Medicine and Director of the Postgraduate programme in Medical Education. He has particular responsibilities for research in the Liverpool curriculum, and is the Director of the Liverpool BEME International Collaborating Centre. He has been, and remains, deeply involved with designing and implementing curriculum reform.
