The first World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) was held in Paris - Le Bourget from October 14 to October 16, 2014. Prof. Wang Biao, Chinese Dean of Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology (IFCEN), attended the Exhibition as the Most Important Person at the invitation of Mr. Yves Fanjas, Director of International Institute of Nuclear Energy (France) and Vice President of Areva (France).

In the morning on October 16, Dean Wang Biao attended the panel discussion on “Training Human Resources for Nuclear Program” hosted by Mr. Yves Bréchet, High Commissioner for Atomic Energy (France). Dean Wang Biao gave a presentation on IFCEN and nuclear talent training in China, and had a heated discussion with the participants on nuclear talent training. Mr. Manuel Valls, Prime Minister of France, met with Dean Wang Biao and highly praised the Sino-French cooperation program. IFCEN’s school-running philosophy and development were affirmed and praised by participants from China, France and other parts of the world.


During the exhibition, Dean Wang Biao visited the booths of large nuclear companies as well as education and training organizations, and communicated with nuclear entrepreneurs from around the world. Invited and financially supported by EDF, Feng Qingqing, Jin Xin, Li Yang and Li Zimin, four postgraduate students of IFCEN, also attended the first WNE.

WNE is the top platform worldwide dedicated to the entire nuclear energy sector, for sharing, sourcing and doing business on a global scale. It provides an opportunity for companies of all sizes to display their know-how and skills in all areas of the nuclear energy industry, aiming to promote international exchanges and cooperation, as well as the development of the nuclear industry. Nearly 500 companies and institutions including EDF, Areva, Westinghouse, Rosatom, CGN, CNNC and Mitsubishi attended the exhibition. The organizers also staged a series of panel discussions and special sessions with the aim of disseminating comprehensive information about the challenges facing the nuclear industry.
