According to a recent announcement by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), six professors at Sun Yat-sen University are selected into the 2014 innovative talents promotion plan. They are: Prof. Wang Yuejun from School of Earth Science and Geological Engineering, Prof. Ouyang Gangfeng from School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Prof. Chen Binglong from School of Mathematics & Computational Science, Prof. He Mingguang from Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Prof. Li Jun from Zhongshan School of Medicine, and Prof. Jia Weihua from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center.

Started in 2012, the innovative talents promotion plan of MOST has five categories: scientists’ studios, leading young and middle-aged science and technology innovative talents, science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship talents, innovative teams in key fields, and innovative talents cultivation demonstration bases.
