On November 17-20, 2015, the 14th “Challenge Cup” National Competition of Chinese College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Scientific Achievements was held in Guangdong University of Technology. Prof. Yan Guangmei, Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), attended the opening ceremony and encouraged SYSU contestants to win honor for the University.

The 14th “Challenge Cup”, sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Education and All-China Students Federation, attracted over 2 million college students. 783 works from 318 universities entered the final competition.

SYSU sent 6 teams to participate in the final competition, winning 2 grand prizes, 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and receiving a trophy for total score.
