Ahead of the 32nd Teachers’ Day, on the afternoon of September 9, 2016, Hu Chunhua, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, came to Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) to visit teacher representative Professor Huang Xiuji, and sent festive greetings to all teachers in the province on behalf of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government. Professor Chen Chunsheng, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, and Professor Luo Jun, President of SYSU, attended the event.

On the afternoon of September 9, SYSU held a seminar in Swasey Hall on Guangzhou South Campus. Nearly 40 teacher representatives from schools, departments and affiliated hospitals were invited to share their understanding of the four standards of good teachers. Secretary Chen Chunsheng, Vice President Wei Minghai, and Assistant President Luo Teng attended the seminar.

On the morning of September 9, “My Teachers and I —2016 Teachers’ Day Sharing Meeting” was held in Swasey Hall on Guangzhou South Campus. Professor Gao Guoquan from Zhongshan School of Medicine, Professor Wang Xueqin from School of Mathematics and Zhongshan School of Medicine, and Associate Professor Chen Nabo from School of Government shared their stories with the students. Vice President Yan Guangmei, and Director of Publicity Department Huang Yi attended the meeting.

Before the Teachers’ Day, Secretary Chen Chunsheng paid a visit to Professor Huang Tianji, Academician Lin Haoran, Professor Xia Shuzhang, and Academician Su Qiang respectively. Secretary Chen Chunsheng also held a meeting with representatives of clinical doctors at The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU.
