On the morning of March 4, Li Ping, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee; Tang Yan, Director of the Office of the SYSU Committee of the CPC; Fan Yuanban, Director of the Office of Security and Military Training Affairs; and Yang Yuanhong, Deputy Director of the President’s Office, came to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital to visit Lu Zhihui, Deputy Head of the Security Guards of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, who rescued a drowning person. They sent flowers and money in the company of President Shen Huiyong, Deputy Secretary Zhao Wanwen and Assistant President Ruan Yi of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital.
In the Security Office of the Hospital, Deputy Secretary Li Ping and her entourage felt relieved when they saw that Lu Zhihui had already engaged in his normal work. “At such a critical moment you jumped into the Pearl River to rescue a drowning person, regardless of your personal safety. We are moved by your act of risking your life for others. I am very proud and honored that Sun Yat-sen University has such a good employee like you.” Deputy Secretary Li Ping held his hands tightly and said, “Today, entrusted by Secretary Zheng Detao and President Xu Ningsheng, we come to see you on behalf of the University. You are the pride of our university, the glory of medical workers and our most beautiful security guard. You are a real hero!” After the visit, Deputy Secretary Li Ping also said that Lu Zhihui’s courageous deed should be widely publicized in the university and we should advocate the spirit of acting bravely for a just cause.

Previously, leaders of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital had extended their regards to Lu Zhihui. Touched by his spirit of Big Love, the staff of the hospital also went to visit him and praise him.
