President Xu Ningsheng meeting with Consul-General Anne Elisabeth Luwema
 

President Xu Ningsheng expressed a warm welcome to Ms. Anne Elisabeth Luwema, with a brief introduction of SYSU and its international cooperation and exchange in recent years. President Xu indicated that SYSU has set international cooperation as one of the university’s development strategies, and carried out a number of major international cooperation projects. The higher education and scientific research in the Netherlands have their own unique advantages that appeal to the students. He hoped that SYSU will have more opportunities to collaborate with universities and scientific research institutions in the Netherlands, to establish cooperative relations and promote substantive collaboration.

Consul-General Ms. Anne Elisabeth Luwema expressed gratitude to President Xu Ningsheng for his reception and introduction, and affirmed the development of SYSU. She hoped that more universities and institutions in the Netherlands would enhance their understanding of SYSU, and strengthen mutual cooperation and exchange. She also hoped that the Dutch university delegation will take the opportunity of attending education exhibitions in Guangdong Province in the second half of this year to establish cooperative relationship and strengthen connections and exchanges with SYSU. Moreover, Consul-General Anne Elisabeth Luwema said that the Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Guangzhou actively supports China and the Netherlands to launch cooperative scientific research projects. She expected scholars from SYSU to apply for the research projects, and promote the cooperation and development in scientific research between both sides.
