Secretary Zheng Detao proposed some ideas in his speech about framing the “Twelfth Five-Year” plan of university. Secretary Zheng Detao pointed out that framing the “Twelfth Five-Year” plan is of great importance for our university in seizing new opportunities, meeting new challenges, and promoting the university’s scientific development. In the course of making the plan, we should not only emphasize the result of the plan, but also the process of the plan. We must sum up the work, find the gap, clarify the development thoughts, raise awareness, unite people and encourage people. In order to better frame the “Twelfth Five-Year” plan, we should further understand the situation and tasks the university faced at present, condense the mission and vison of the university, highlight the advantages and charateristics of the university, grasp some key points in the process of developing the university, such as people oriented, quality first, reform and innovation, management efficiency and harmonious development, and continuously expand the university’s development path. Secretary Zheng Detao also reported the work of selecting and appointing cadres in our university in the year 2010.

President Xu Ningsheng gave a speech about positioning development strategy, framing the development plan of our university, reforming thoughts and mechanism innovation. President Xu Ningsheng made an arrangement for the work in the development of the university, all entity schools and all affiliated hospitals and arranged the major tasks of the university in 2011. President Xu Ningsheng emphasized that 2011 is a crucial year for our university’s development; we need to complete framing the 10-year development plan, and at the same time start the work of “985” Phrase III in all domains. Based on in-depth research, we should think creatively, clarify thoughts for the continuous healthy and rapid development of the university, and capture the development concerns and new focuses.
In the seminar, each vice president or assistant principal gave a report respectively on his or her directing field, including the major work in 2011 and the working thought and development plan in the next five to ten years. Participants of the seminar had group discussions on the reports and speeches and exchanged ideas with each other.
