On Sep. 17, Mr. Li Ningyuan, vice Consul-General of the Korea Consulate in Guangzhou, visited SYSU, together with his delegation. Vice president Chen Chunsheng met the distinguished guests and had a warm talk with them. Together, the two sides reviewed the long history of friendship.

Vice president Chen Chunsheng made a brief introduction about SYSU’s communication with other universities and the status of SYSU Institute of Korea Studies. Meanwhile, he expressed SYSU’s wish to conduct further cooperation and communication in all directions with the top universities in Korea. Vice Consul-General Li Ningyuan said that, the close communication between China and Korea in politics, economy and culture set a strong basis for the mutual understanding and trust. He said that, during his tenure, he would do his best to further enhance Sino-S. Korea relationship and strengthen the cooperation between SYSU and Korean universities. Moreover, Mr. Li, on behalf of the Korea Consulate in Guangzhou, provided a fund for SYSU Institute of Korea Studies.

Professor Wei Zhijiang, the institute’s deputy director, and Xu Yao, deputy director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, attended the meeting. After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to the Instituteof Korea Studies.
