Yesterday, the reporter learned from Sun Yat-sen University that 40 pure electric medium-sized buses developed by SYSU Dongguan Research Institute will hit the road for trial run at the end of the year. According to the introduction, the design idea of the electric medium-sized bus is different from the previous idea of “battery adapting to vehicle”, it adopts the lightweight design of “vehicle adapting to battery”. Its price is only about half the market price of similar products, and its energy consumption is one-sixth of that of similar products.

It is learned that these 40 new lightweight pure electric medium-sized buses will be applied in Dongguan New Energy Vehicle Demonstration Project and delivered for use at the end of this year. First they will start trial run on some bus routes in Dongguan City.

The 40 medium-sized buses are of two types: shuttle medium-sized bus with design speed of 60 km/h and business medium-sized bus with design speed of 85 km/h.
