On July 11-12, 2015, a group of experts from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) offered medical services in Meizhou city, Guangdong province. Li Ping, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, Xu Yuantong, Former Vice President of SYSU, Guo Xiaocong, Director of the United Front Work Department of SYSU, and Qiu Guoxin, Director of the Publicity Department of SYSU, participated in the activity.
The training class on progress in medical sciences
On July 11, the training class on progress in medical sciences, jointly organized by the United Front Work Department of SYSU and the Meizhou Medical Association, attracted more than 280 medical workers from various hospitals in Meizhou. Prof. Chen Yanming, Deputy President of Yuedong Hospital of The Third Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, Prof. Luo Bin, Deputy Director of the Center for Medicolegal Expertise of SYSU, and Prof. Liu Huanliang, Executive Deputy Director of the Gastroenterology Institute of The Sixth Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, gave a lecture respectively on “New progress in the prevention and treatment of diabetes”, "Tort Law and the prevention of medical disputes”, and “How to write medical papers”.
A scene of the free medical services
On July 12, nearly 30 experts from The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, The Third Affiliated Hospital and Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center offered free medical services at Yuedong Hospital of The Third Affiliated Hospital of SYSU. The experts also attended the ward rounds, held group consultations and discussed patient cases. According to statistics, more than 830 people received the free medical services. The local people spoke highly of the professional level and service attitude of SYSU experts.
In the afternoon, Prof. Qin Jian, Director of the Education Office of The First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, went to Meizhou People’s Hospital to give a lecture on “Construction of Hospital Culture”, which was highly praised by the participants.
