On the morning of Sep.30, Professor Huang Jiefu, vice Director of the Central Health Care Committee, vice Minister of Health and Director of the Central Health Care Agency, paid an inspective visit to the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, together with his party. Accompanied by Zheng Detao, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, Wang Jianping, vice President of SYSU and Director of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital, and Miao Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the hospital, vice minister Huang Jiefu visited the Institute of Gastroenterology, the editorial department of Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery and the department of specific diagnosis, etc.
Secretary Zheng regarded the visit by Minister Huang as a happy event both to the university and to the hospital. On behalf of the leading group and all the teachers and students, Secretary Zheng expressed sincere thanks to Minister Huang for his long-term support and help for SYSU, especially for the medical education.
Vice president Wang Jianping gave an account of the achievements in “personalized medicine for colorectal cancer” by the Instituteof Gastroenterology, the history of the sixth affiliated hospital, the medical achievement accomplished by now as well as the future development plan.
Vice Minister Huang tastily referred to this visit as votive. Actually, he has a deep relationship with and a great affection for SYSU and the Sixth Affiliated Hospital. Vice Minister Huang expressed his affirmative attitude towards the recent development of the hospital, the medical skill, medical ethics and style of the medical team. He said, seeing from the overall situation, health care has been put at the first place among the livelihood issues. Therefore, hospitals should take the chance of medical reform to seek development, which keeps in line with the national policy and conforms to the national development trend. That is to lower medical fees and vigorously develop the basic medicine and primary care so as to better benefit the common people. Meanwhile, Minister Huang pointed out that the hospital should continue to enhance cultural construction and lay emphasis on the training and introduction of the talents. He is quite confident that the hospital, under the leadership of SYSU and the hospital leading group, would become the biggest gastrointestinal surgery center in China.
