Recently, a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) of Thailand, led by Secretary Danuch Tanterdtid visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Wang Fan, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, met with the guests in the VIP room of Zhongshan Building on Guangzhou South Campus. Representatives from the School of Tourism Management, Zhongshan School of Medicine, Office of Education Administration, and Office of International Cooperation & Exchange attended the meeting.

Deputy Secretary Wang Fan extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced the recent development of SYSU. He emphasized that SYSU actively promoted exchanges of teachers and students, talent training and scientific research cooperation with Thai universities, maintaining long-term friendly cooperative relations in tourism, life sciences, medicine and other disciplines. SYSU is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the MHESI, and make greater contributions to the implementation of the "Belt and Road" initiative to build a more stable, prosperous and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future.
Secretary Danuch Tanterdtid expressed his gratitude for the hospitality of SYSU, and said that he looked forward to further deepening exchanges and cooperation with SYSU, increasing cooperation between the two sides in scientific research, higher education and technological innovation, adding impetus to the construction of the family-like relations between China and Thailand, helping enrich the connotation of the China-Thailand community with a shared future.

After the meeting, the delegation paid visits to the School of Life Sciences, Zhongshan School of Medicine, the School of Physics and Astronomy, and the School of Tourism Management for further discussion and exchange.
