On the morning of December 26, Meizhou-SYSU City-University Cooperation Seminar was held in SYSU. Mr. Huang Qiang, Secretary of the CPC Meizhou Municipal Committee; Mr. Tan Juntie, Mayor of Meizhou; Prof. Zheng Detao, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee; and Prof. Xia Lianghui, Assistant President of SYSU, attended the seminar.
At the seminar, Huang Qiang thanked SYSU for its long term support for Meizhou’s development, and hoped that the two sides would expand and deepen cooperation in the future.
Meizhou-SYSU City-University Cooperation Seminar
Tan Juntie introduced the collaborations in biomedicine, ceramic industry, electronic commerce, healthcare, and talent cultivation since the signing of the cooperation framework agreement between Meizhou and SYSU in May 2013. He hoped that SYSU would support Meizhou’s upgrading of traditional industries, cultivation of emerging industries, as well as hospital construction.
Zheng Detao pointed out that serving national and local development has always been one of the objectives of SYSU. The cooperation between SYSU and Meizhou has a long history, good foundation and broad prospects. He hoped that the two sides could further refine the contents of the cooperation framework agreement and implement the projects based on the needs of Meizhou and the advantages of SYSU.
Xia Lianghui said that initial results have been achieved in the collaborations between Meizhou and SYSU, and the two sides will work together to promote economic development and industrial upgrading in Meizhou.
The representatives from SYSU also gave their opinions on the cooperation in the fields of medical and health services, talent cultivation, ecological health, biomedicine, industrial planning, electronic commerce, and ceramic industry.
The two sides reached consensus to establish communication mechanism, set the timetable for survey and research, and implement the cooperation projects.
