On November 22nd, 2014, the International Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting of Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University was held in the Lingnan MBA Building, Sun Yat-sen University. This is the third meeting since the IAB was established. The IAB members are global business and academic leaders from leading multinational corporations and business schools.
On the day before the IAB meeting, Mr. Zhu Xiaodan, Governor of Guangdong Province, met with Prof. Liu Mingkang, Honorary Dean of Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University, Prof. Zheng Detao, Party Secretary of Sun Yat-sen University, Dr. Annie Wu, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University, Dr. James T. Wu, Honorary Chairman of Board of Trustees of Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University and other members of IAB. Members contributed valuable ideas which were highly appreciated by Guangdong provincial leaders.

Prof. Carl P. Zeithaml, Dean of McIntire School of Commerce at University of Virginia chaired the meeting. At the meeting, Prof. Xu Xinzhong, Dean of Lingnan College, presented to the IAB Members on Lingnan’s 2020 strategies and Lingnan’s aim to be widely recognized as one of the top 100 global business schools. He stated that Lingnan would continue to strengthen its faculty development in the future, particularly bring in teachers with international background, establish research areas with global reputation, provide equal education opportunity, cultivate students with strong social responsibility, develop strategic partnership with global partners, provide project base learning with corporate support, and increase global visibility, etc. The meeting continued with the presentation by Prof. Liu Mingkang, Honorary Dean of Lingnan College. He updated Lingnan EMBA’s achievements in the past year, and he also pointed out the challenges faced by Lingnan’s EMBA program.
In the discussions, the IAB Members emphasized that Lingnan should put priority on attracting excellent faculty staff, educating students from diverse background with strong responsibility, strengthen industry connections, and increase brand visibility and so on. Members expressed that they would keep supporting the development of Lingnan College. After the meeting, the IAB Members had lunch with Lingnan's undergraduate student representatives.
