th, the production-research cooperation seminar jointly held by SYSU, Zhejiang University, Huizhou Daya Bay Economic and Technology Development Zone, was/ had been held in Huizhou. About 60 people were invited to the seminar, including Huang Daren, President of SYSU, Zhu Jian, Vice-president of Zhejiang University, and Xu Guang, member of the Standing Committee of Huizhou and Secretary of the Daya Bay Distinct, had presented the seminar. Jiang Zhaoqing, Secretary of Party Committee of China University of Petroleum(Beijing), Qiu Shilun, Vice-president of Jilin University, Li Xiufeng, Secretary of Party Committee of Huizhou College, relevant university experts, scholars, business representatives.
By 2020, the petrochemical base of Huizhou Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone, of which the capacity of oil refining would reach 40million tons, and on the base of which the petrochemical and downstream petrochemical industry base at the square of 65 square kilometers would be established, would become the largest petrochemical base of the world. In order to provide technical support to the largest petrochemical base and the downstream industries, it is imperative to construct the Industrial Park of Scientific and Technological Innovation of Huizhou Daya Bay. Therefore, SYSU, Zhejiang University, and Huizhou Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone had co-organized this seminar with the aim of contributing their ideas for the development of chemical industry base.
In correspondence to the construction of Chemical Industry Research Institute of Huizhou Daya bay, president Huang Daren advised a the conference, a model of Government planning and colleges and universities building, which changed the production and research model of one university to a new model of Government leading and a number of colleges and universities participating, and which strives to put an advanced chemical technology on the industrialization of the Daya Bay Industrial Park of scientific and technological innovation. The proposal was given a positive response by the local government, Zhejiang University, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Jilin University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, South China University of Technology and a number of units. The principal concerned who were present at the seminar said that, they should strengthen the cooperation and communication between the universities, integrate resources, form alliances and co-develop to promote the production and research co-operation with the Daya Bay area.
