On Dec.12th, “Dream Fulfilling Plan” 2011 matriculation ceremony of ten thousand Guangdong young migrant workers was held grandly in the K.K.Leung Hall of our University. More than 900 student representatives attended the ceremony in this main hall, while the rest of more than 8,000 students watched the ceremony through network video in the parallel sessions in other cities or places. Attendees in the main session in K.K.Leung Hall were Lu Xi, undersecretary of Ministry of Education; He Junke, secretary of secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Young League; Zhu Kongjun, deputy secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Zhu Mingguo, the director of Provincial Social Workers Committee; Xiao Zhiheng, member of the Standing Committee of Provincial Party Committee and executive vice governor; Zheng Detao, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee; Zhu Kongjun, deputy secretary and the leaders from the member organizations of the Dream Fulfilling Plan Joint Conference. Zeng Yingru, deputy secretary of Provincial Committee of CYL, hosted the ceremony. In addition, more than 1,000 people attended the ceremony to witness the realization of college dream of young migrant workers; They were the leaders of the 17 cooperating universities and colleges, including Peking University and Sun Yat-Sen University, the directors of the Distance Learning Schools, the representatives of donating enterprises, members of the Provincial Committee of Youth Federation, representatives of outstanding young people, representatives of “dual tutors and dual assistants” and student representatives of “Dream Fulfilling Plan”.
As “Dream Fulfilling Plan” mainly consists of online education, the sponsor creatively designed the whole ceremony as a warm and wonderful online class meeting, embodying the elements of network, technology and class. During the interaction period, the attending leaders played as the students’ life mentors. The introductive video of “Dream Fulfilling Plan” was played at the beginning of the class meeting, which, through pictures, words and in-depth interviews of students, gave a brief review of “Dream Fulfilling Plan” from spring trial “Peking University 100” to autumn 100 “Dream 100”. And then, four students heartily read their original poem Power of Dream, representing all the students to express their heartfelt wishes to the Party and government: “Working creates values, striving achieves success.” The leaders of the 17 recruiting universities and colleges conferred school motto plates on the student representatives. At the end of the class meeting, all of the attendees stood up to sing the song “Ode to the Motherland”. They expressed their expectation and yearning for a bright future through the most sincere song and the most genuine affection.
