On June 8th, the 2009~2010 talent prize of “Committee of 100” awarding ceremony took place in Nanjing. This year, 28 outstanding graduate students from 14 famous universities were awarded with the honor. Master Degree Candidate Qi Shanshan from the School of Sociology and Anthropology, SYSU and Jiang Jia from the School of Business, SYSU made their mark on the awarding list. Qi Shanshan was honored “Monitor” by her outstanding leadership, comprehensive quality and the good on-site performance. Qi was invited to attend the “Committee of 100” annual conference, to advocate and supervise all the recipients to achieve the objective and commitment of “becoming leaders and elites of the future”.

The Committee of 100 was founded in 1990 New York by a group of concerned Chinese-Americans, including I.M.Pei and Yo-Yo Ma. The key functions of the committee of 100 are to serve as a bridge between Greater China and America and to provide a forum for tackling issues concerned by Asian Americans in the United States. The talent prize of “Committee of 100” founded by “Committee of 100” for graduate students of China is to encourage and reward graduate students who are excellent in character and academic, with strong leadership and who are active in social causes. Since 2005, over 100 graduate students nationwide have been awarded the prize, among whom 10 of them are from SYSU.
