On April 24, as the opening-ceremony for the 2nd biology festival wrapped up, the students from the Student Union of the College of Life Science raised the curtain of biology festival.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, the staff held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. During the ceremony, the host firstly introduced the guests to us, and then invited some of them to cut the ribbon. The audience applauded incessantly when the host announced the start of the biology festival. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a lecture, with the theme “Tumor and Health Care”, was delivered by Professor Zhuang Shimei from the College of Life Science. At the lecture, Professor Zhuang imparted an in-depth knowledge about tumor to the students and advised them on ways of keeping good living habits to prevent tumor related diseases. All of the students felt they had benefited a great deal from the ceremony.

This biology festival will last for about one month. During the festival, a series of activities will be held to allow students to experience a wonderful world of biology and broaden their horizon. These activities include skills of doing experiments match, painting and photographic exhibition, and the open day of biological laboratory.

All of the students from the College of Life Science are in the hope of the consummation of the biology festival. The activity they considered the most interesting and attractive is the “seed plan”. By this plan, each room of dormitory in College of Life Science received some seeds of a kind of plants and a little floral disc to plant the seeds. Some time later, a garden party is going to be held to let them exhibit their plants. Students can also give their plants to friends, teachers and so on.
