Professor Yu-guo LI, head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, the University of Hong Kong, visited School of Engineering, SYSU on the morning of February 25. He visited the mechanics laboratories in the South Campus of SYSU, including towing and wave tank, wind tunnel and solid mechanics laboratory, and also discussed with the students doing experiments in wave tank. Then he visited the laboratories of Biomedical Engineering, Mechanics, Transportation Engineering, and Energy & Safety Engineering in the Building of School of Engineering in the East Campus. He also delivered an academic lecture entitled “Understanding air environment from the human scale to city scale”, and had heated discussion on related issues with teachers and students.

Associate Dean of School of Engineering Jie-min ZHAN met with Professor LI, accompanied by Assistant Dean Ming CAI. Associate Professor Jian-hua ZHOU, Dr. Shan-jun MO, and Dr. Wei-long WANG were also present at the meeting. Professor Jie-min ZHAN extended a cordial welcome. Both sides exchanged views and reached a consensus on students exchange, research collaborations, joint-supervision scheme, etc. After the communication, the understanding of each other was deepened, and a solid foundation for future cooperation was laid.
