On the afternoon of March 14, the signing ceremony of the exchange and cooperation agreement between School of Law, Sun Yat-Sen University and College of Law, National Taiwan University was held in south campus. Guests present at the signing ceremony were dean Cai Mingchen of College of Law, National Taiwan University, Professor Ge Kechang, professor Xu Shihuan of College of Law, National Taiwan University, etc; dean Xu Zhongming of School of Law, Sun Yat-Sen University, secretary Yu Hua of the Party Committee, vice president Huang Yao, professor Li Zhiping, professor Ding Lifu, president assistant, associate professor Chen Dong, director Huang Bin and teacher representatives, more than ten people in total.
On behalf of the school, dean Xu Zhongming first extended his warmest welcome to president Cai Mingchen and his group, and gave a positive evaluation of the significance of the two schools’ cooperation. Dean Cai Mingchen of College of Law, National Taiwan University expressed sincere thanks to school of law’s cordial hospitality, and also conveyed his strong desire to enhance substantial cooperation between the two schools. The two sides introduced their circumstances to each other, communicated deeply and fruitfully on subjects such as discipline construction, scientific research, intellectual cultivation and cooperation issues. The two sides looked forward to the cross-strait cooperation of Law, and had great confidence in the prospects of their cooperation. President Cai Mingchen and President Xu Zhongming signed the exchange and cooperation agreement on behalf of the two schools.
The cooperation between the two schools aims to combine the research achievements of Law of both sides effectively and closely, enhance the observation and study of both sides’ development of Law, develop law theory, consummate the two sides’ Law education and academic development. The main content of the cooperation includes: exchange publications, invite and arrange both sides’ scholars to give lectures and subject speeches (lectures), attend seminars, visit each other and develop research cooperation, etc, meanwhile encourage graduate students and PhD Students to conduct short-term research exchanges, take turns to host or co-organize seminars, and also exchange students, etc.
