In the evening of June 13th, co-hosted by General Youth League of the philosophy department and Chengxin Guqin Society, "Elegant rhyme of mid-summer--dragon-boat festival Guqin gathering by Chengxin Guqin society of SYSU" was held in Chinese Hall of the south campus. Many famous Guqin experts outside the campus and Guqin lovers from the university gathered together, including leaders of Lingnan school of Qin, Xie Daoxiu from Guangdong Guqin research society, president of Qi mu qin club, vice president of Guangdong Guqin research society Xie Dongxiao, Guangdong Guqin Player Fanghua, Professor Chen Chusheng form Jinan University and SYSU alumni.

Feng Huanzhen, Associate Professor from the philosophy department gave a brief introduction of Guqin arts and Guqin society. She explained that Guqin society takes Confucius motto as its purpose, which is to "Set your heart upon the Way, support yourself by virtue, lean upon Goodness, and seek distraction in the arts". And it aims to pass down Chinese traditional art, while at the same time learners can cultivate their moral character and please both themselves and others. During the gathering, some famous Guqin melody were played, such as Wild Geese on the sandbank, Dialogue Between The Fisherman And The Woodcutter and The Drunkard. Plum Blossom Melodyand Blue Waves and thermal spring water were played with instrumental ensemble.
