Zhu Kongjun, male, Han ethnicity, born in August 1967, is a native of Linyi, Shandong Province. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1988, and the workforce in June 1989. He is a Doctor of Law, and Research Fellow.
After graduating from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) with a bachelor's degree in philosophy, Zhu Kongjun spent many years of his career at SYSU, successively serving as a staff of the Youth League Committee of SYSU, a secretary of the Party Committee Office of SYSU (deputy section chief level), Deputy Secretary and Secretary of the Youth League Committee of SYSU, Director of the Publicity Department of the Party Committee of SYSU, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Office of SYSU, Director of the Party Committee Office of SYSU and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SYSU, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SYSU. During this period, he worked on secondment in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, serving as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Municipal Committee of Baise and Deputy Mayor of Baise.
In January 2016, he was appointed as Secretary of the Party Committee of South China Normal University. In August 2021, he was appointed as a member of the Education Work Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. In March 2023, he was appointed Secretary of the Education Work Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. In September 2024, he was appointed as Secretary of the Party Committee of SYSU, Secretary of the Education Work Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and Part-time Vice Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Social Sciences.
